IndoDONKEY?
This is my nickname at the poker table. It is because A. I am Indonesian and B. they say I play poker like a donkey. I could only hope they are not implying that I look like a donkey.
So what do you write on the IndoDONKEY blog?
I am a movie buff. I have seen a lot of movies for all ages. Movies that are rated PG-13, R or NC-17, chick flicks, drama, cartoon, comedy, Japanese horror, porn, semi-porn, hardcore porn, religious, documentary, sci-fi, movies that involve animal cruelty, border jumpers, Italian mobs, dirty cops, etc.. I definitely feel that I have spent too much time and money downloading or renting movies, or even going to the theater every week. Hah what can I say? I guess I am just such a big-time movie buff. So one day I just decided to create a blog to write reviews, ramblings, rants and raves about movies that I have seen, and hopefully this blog somehow helps you decide what movies you want to see and what ones you want to pass on.
What exactly do you see when you watch a movie?
The storyline, acting, casts, cinematography, etc.. I would say pretty much everything. I pay attention to little and seemingly insignificant details that sometimes most people would miss when they watch a movie. To me, a good movie does not have to have Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie or some Playboy bunny with double-d breasts as the main character. They can just throw in a scrawny, clumsy little kid as the lead star coupled with special effects.. And BAM! You got yourself a really decent movie to watch.
Do you have any favorite actors/actresses?
Even though I have seen many movies that won Academy Awards, movies with A-list Celebrities, Golden Globe winning movies, etc.. Deep down inside I am still a loyal fan of Jean Claude Van Damme’s. I practically grew up watching all his movies – some of them even inspired me to learn how to do splits, which at the end I would always pull my groin muscles. It is very unfortunate that nowadays theaters are not playing any of his movies anymore because most (or should I say, ALL) of them would go straight to DVDs. Poor Van Damme.. I hope someday he realizes that he still has a huge number-one fan out there who still believes in him and keeps wishing that he wins an Academy Award someday.
